Pygmy hippo Chico of the Heythrop Zoological Gardens in the UK has been off his feed lately. Zookeepers at the private zoo in Oxfordshire don’t know why Chico stopped eating, but they have learned how to get him to start again. A glove puppet of the hippo Gloria from the film Madagascar does the trick. Zookeepers found the puppet in a supermarket and now use it to feed Chico his favorite carrot treats. Says one keeper, “We were extremely surprised when he took a liking to Gloria and we have been using it to feed him ever since.”
