Hippo Cake

If you live in England, you could have a cool hippo cake just like this one for your next birthday party or social event. It’s made by a member of the British Sugarcraft Guild and depicts a cute hippo in a bathtub with frothy soap bubbles spilling over the edge. The detail is amazing!

The only problem I have with this kind of cake is that I would be really upset to cut it open and scarf it down! But I’m guessing my overwhelming desire to eat cake would overcome my reticence to destroy this lovely creation. Especially if it’s chocolate inside…

See the blog post here. Creator Janice tells me the cake took her 3 hours to make (in a class) and will be included in the Maisie Parrish cake book available in June. She was unable to eat it since it was made on a dummy cake made of polystyrene.
